Visiting Ostuni is always a good idea (written in English and Dutch) During our holiday in Puglia, a southern Italian region also called the heel of the boot, it’s without doubt Ostuni charmed us the most. Ostuni, also called the “white city”, because all houses are painted white. There is a reason why. The liming of the houses dates back to the 17th century. Lime is a kind of disinfectant and as such protected the Ostunian citizens against the outbreak of the plague. I do not seek, I find. Pablo Picasso (written in english and dutch) Apulia will be our next holdiay destination! It is a region down in the heel of Italy’s boot. From where I live it’s a 5 hours drive and then we will be in, the always warm, southern part of Italy.
